Local Fires Contained – Wednesday 30th October

From the RFS Website. There will be no more updates on these fires, as they have been contained. What a relief!

And so much thanks is due to the Rural Fire Brigade in this region – and all the others who came to help from near and far in whatever capacity they could.

Yesterday’s rain certainly was welcome. It may have been only 11 mm but every little bit helps!

  1. Thanks for all your information over the last few weeks. Glad Hartley and the surrounds are safe again.

    • Thanks Angela for your good thoughts. This emergency is over, but the summer has not yet begun. Only good, steady, soaking rain will make us feel really safe from this drought and these fires!

  2. What’s this complaining about only 11ml of rain – we got 5.1ml and it’s precious! What a relief – thanks to all the firies and to Greenoak for keeping us informed.

    • Every little bit helps, but we need to keep the rain dancing going. It will take at least 4 inches (100ml) to make an appreciable difference to the condition of the land, and quench the thirst of these poor struggling trees!

  3. That’s wonderful news! The firies and all their support people have done an incredible job..am visualising lots more rain for the valley now…:)
