The Hartley District Progress Association’s AGM held on Monday 5th December was a festive affair attended by thirty members of the Hartley community.
After an initial half hour of drinks and nibbles and comparing rain gauge readings with neighbours it was time to get down to business and elect a new Committee.
The new lineup for 2017 is:
President: Renzo Benedet
Vice President: Jeff Thurlow
Secretary: Rosemary Barber
Treasurer: Warren Elgar
with other Committee Members being:
Ian Campbell; Peter Hurenkamp; Josh Barnes (only until the end of January) with Ramsay Moodie; & A J Jack.
Hall Hire will now be managed by Kerry Elgar with AJ Jack (with new technology to make the process much easier for everyone concerned).
The Business Directory will be organised by AJ Jack with Kerry Elgar.
The position of Newsletter organiser has yet to be filled and enthusiastic applicants are eagerly sought. The next Newsletter is due to be published in early to mid February.
The Website is to be managed by Diane Green and AJ Jack and the Facebook Pages by Diane Green, Karen Edwards and AJ Jack.
The Social Committee is again led by Sharon Howard, with Ann Benedet, Jane Dodd, Susie Moodie, Toni Conley, Sue Jack, and Diane Green working together to bring a few Special Events to the year’s calendar.
All these volunteers were warmly welcomed to their new positions, and the HDPA looks forward to a happy and successful year for everyone in the wider Hartley community.
Past President Duncan Wass (2007 – 2010) and President of the Western Crossings Trust and his wife Barbara, who have left the valley for the lofty heights of Mt Victoria were unanimously made Life Members of the HDPA for their past and continuing service to the community.
