On the morning of 28th December, 2013, Tom Kent President of the Hartley District Progress Association announced the winners of the Grande Raffle conducted by the Progress Association as part of its 1813 Commemoration Activities. First prize a two night accommodation package at Emirate’s Wolgan Valley Resort went to Hartley Valley resident Val Morris, with consolation prizes of a copy of the book ‘A Moment in Time’ going to the second and third place drawers Greg Lemeseurier and Tracy Mc Mahon.

Following the announcement of the winner, Tom Kent expressed his thanks to all those people who had supported the raffle and to Emirates Wolgan Valley for their generous donation of the first prize package. Proceeds from the raffle will help to fund the work of the Progress Association’s Western Crossings Trust, a charitable entity established by the Association to foster consideration of the consequences of the crossing of the Blue Mountains by Europeans in 1813.
